A Quick Little Update

Hello, so it’s been a couple of months since our last post, and we haven’t forgotten about you! The thing is we have been all so busy! We can’t divulge all the details but here’s what we can say :]

So since the last post (back in April) we began filming a short film titled Inflated Practise. It’s a story of a boy’s journey of practising and building courage to ask a girl out. It’s a sweet little story, and was all so fun to work on. It was a great experience to leave the CGI and VFX behind for once and focus on a story driven short!

We have also been working tirelessly on some HTML5 and CSS3 advancements to the new web design. We currently have some beta testers running compatibility tests on all browsers (IE6+, Firefox 3+, Safari 4+, Chrome, Opera, etc.). The release is due out at the end of year (I know that’s ages away) but we want the transition to be as smooth as possible without hindering any of your time!

We are also introducing Matt Sherwell into the writing team to add articles on film, art, photography, among other great creative mediums. He has extensive knowledge, and as part founder of MBFilms his presence is welcomed :]

We also are celebrating International Left Hander’s Day 2011 on Saturday, 13th of August 2011. It’s a day to celebrate and experience life from the other side of the body. Being a left hander (and proud of it!) I think it’s a great opportunity for everyone to have a fun day wherever you are!

You can RSVP to the event here: Mark Battistella Films presents International Left Hander’s Day 2011.

It’ll be great to see you all join the (current) 331 attendants! I did search for an International Right Hander’s Day (just to make it fair) but unfortunately the world seems to deem everyday this day – except August 13.

Also in the past months we have been writing heaps – and when I say heaps, I mean HEAPS – of scripts, and little ideas to be made. We struggle mostly with our planning and juggling all our commitments so we currently are taking it slow. But we do promise that what is produced will be the best, and worth the wait!

We also have had a few emails, and comments concerning the WebStore. The coming date has not yet been finalised. This isn’t our decision, but the fact that our platform to create articles is in the upgrading movement (just as we are). This means that until their systems are complete that we cannot open shop :[ But we expect everything to be complete by the end of year so we’ll have a launch party – or if funds are low, a lunch party!

So what is in the future? Well lets say that a few comics, and infographs/flow charts are in the works. We will be releasing articles as usual (and hopefully more regularly). There are a few short stories, and scripts too. There’s a play script too, and one of these will be up for grabs – we’re just not sure yet :P

On a massive side note, Mark has been overly upset as the conclusion of Harry Potter has occurred. He deems it to be the most advanced visually designed film franchise. So he’s having a little post-Potter breakdown.

Have you seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2? What did you think? Would you be able to view any of the cast in other films as their new characters or always as a Harry Potter one?
